“Altman Siegel was founded by Claudia Altman-Siegel in 2009. The program focuses on internationally recognized, museum-level artists whose work contributes to the cultural dialogue domestically and abroad. The gallery presents significant Bay Area artists and brings international artists to San Francisco for the first time. “
To give the gallery site a refreshed role in an increasingly web-based world, we worked together to communicate and visualize key recommendations to developers. As a starting point, their current site was hosted on a platform made to fit the needs of Arts institutions, and they wanted to preserve some of the functionality and content already stored through their platform. I worked within the template offerings of their current platform to understand their needs and modify the template.
The process included designs to address their UX / navigational needs and create a bespoke look & feel apart from generic templates. The work was then handed off to the platform's developer for execution with oversight. The site is slated to launch in a couple of months.
